Elk Mountain Riding Company at 136 Elk Mountain Road, Newland, North Carolina.

From setting it up with Robin to riding with Marty, our experience with Elk Mountain Riding was top notch. Upon first contact we were able to get ourselves booked for a ride the following day. Her communication was prompt, professional, and friendly.

We arrived for our ride to be greeted by our guide, Marty. We felt welcome right away. He is friendly and asked about our riding skills (we have almost none). He got us on to horses Judge and Leo. Both were well-mannered and fun to ride. The trail winds up and down the mountain through woods, pastures, and Christmas tree farms. Their dog even joined us for the first part of the ride.

There's a nice break at the top to dismount and walk around a bit. I'm sure the horses enjoyed the break, too. We then worked our way back down to the stables. The scenery was excellent in all directions.

Robin & Marty gave us a great day in the mountains of North Carolina. We drove over an hour from where we were staying to ride and it was definitely worth the trip. I highly recommend Elk Mountain Riding if you want an excellent experience horseback riding.
